Dana has lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of her life. Avid in outdoor sports, adventures, and travel, she is active in the area and finds it important to recognize the connection between physical and mental health. Devoted to family and friends, she believes that relationships take work and dedication, understanding, patience, and empathy. All these elements are brought into the therapeutic relationship, and she finds the perspective of unconditional positive regard, meeting people where they are, essential in working with clients.
Clients I have had the privilege to work with have presented with anxiety, emotional dysregulation, adjustment disorders, grief group work, family relationship difficulties, ADHD, ODD, personality disorders, and behavioral issues. I am guided and trained in several techniques that permit me to personalize the therapeutic process to my client’s needs. The approach that I take to therapy is guided by Person Centered Therapy, directed and focused on the client(s); Attachment Theory, examining family dynamics and how those relationships impact current relationships and thought processes; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), examining thoughts, behaviors, and feelings to uncover unhealthy patterns and reach client determined goals; and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), utilizing mindfulness, interpersonal examination, emotion regulation, and acceptance to build healthy coping and processing skills.

As a Marriage and Family therapist, interactions are examined from a systemic lens. From this outlook, therapy does not just focus on the individual, but is rather developed from the relationships, history, and interactions of a person’s life. Together we will work to examine these various dynamics, with the intent of alleviating distress, exploring goals, increasing self-awareness, and develop growth and success in the areas of concern. We will examine and challenge the feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that contribute to the unhealthy aspects of your life and concentrate on your strengths and abilities to develop healthy patterns and coping skills. We will discuss the therapy process and what it will look like once therapeutic goals have been met and how we can complete our services together.
